LOGIC.co.id – Playboi Carti’s latest album, MUSIC, remains at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for the second consecutive week (as of April 5, 2025). The album initially debuted at the top of the chart, marking the biggest rap release of the year.
In its second week (ending March 27), MUSIC accumulated 131,000 equivalent album units in the U.S., experiencing a 56% decline from its first-week total of 298,000 units, according to data from Luminate. This marks Carti’s second No. 1 album, but the first to stay at the top for more than a week. Previously, his album Whole Lotta Red only held the top spot for a single week in January 2021.
MUSIC’s Performance on the Charts
Of the 131,000 equivalent album units earned this week:
- 124,000 units came from streaming (SEA), equating to 171.02 million on-demand streams,
- 7,000 units were from physical and digital album sales,
- The remaining units were from individual track sales (TEA) in minimal numbers.
MUSIC’s sustained success was further bolstered by the release of a deluxe edition titled MUSIC – Sorry 4 Da Wait on March 25. This version added four new songs to the original 30-track album: “Different Day,” “2024,” “Backr00ms,” and “FOMDJ.” These tracks were initially available exclusively in limited-edition digital versions sold through Playboi Carti’s official web store during the first week of release. With their availability on streaming platforms as of March 25, the album gained additional streaming numbers, helping it maintain its dominance on the Billboard 200.
With this achievement, MUSIC becomes Carti’s first album to spend more than one week at No. 1, solidifying his influence and appeal in today’s music industry.
